Step 1-Get the Form
There is a pricey VAT Tax (16%) that you may be charged if you don't pay attention to the following details.
Upon checking in at the hotel, you will need to show your passport and your exit portion of the completed FMM Immigration form. It is important that you answer the questions properly on this form to qualify to avoid paying the tax.
Note: if you have extended your trip and added days before or after conference, these extra days may not qualify for the exemption.
Before landing, be sure to have the FMM Immigration Form filled out. Some commercial airlines no longer hand out immigration forms, but the Cancun Airport will have the forms (or kiosk), but this will slow down your immigration process.
